Rewilding Indiana, One Parcel At a Time

The Great Hoosier Forest Project

The Great Hoosier Forest Project is on a mission to reforest Indiana by returning land to its natural, pre-human state. We focus on acquiring distressed land, floodplain areas, and other low-cost parcels, placing them in permanent trust to ensure they are never developed or logged again. With the help of state and federal partners, we work to restore native plant life and rebuild vital habitats for Indiana’s native wildlife. This is long-term, regenerative conservation — rooted in protecting the land, reviving ecosystems, and creating a thriving future for the forests of Indiana.
